With its athletic proportions and bold design features, the BMW M2 makes no secret of its performance.
353 kW (480 hp) is the maximum output of the M TwinPower Turbo inline-6-cylinder engine of the BMW M2, once again taking the top position in its class.
The most powerful M2 ever.
The M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine features dynamic power delivery and the characteristic throaty M engine sound. Highly efficient technologies such as double VANOS, Valvetronic, high precision injection and a TwinScroll turbocharger provide excellent output. Between 2,650 and 6,130 rpm, the 3.0 litre engine provides its increased maximum torque of 600 Nm* and reaches its maximum output of 353 kW (480 hp) at a speed of 6,250 rpm.
The BMW M2 records a figure of 4.0 seconds with the standard transmission or 4.2 seconds if specified with the optional six-speed manual gearbox. The increase in power also makes its presence felt over the 0 to 200 km/h sprint, delivering an improvement of 0.6 seconds in the case of the BMW M2 with eight-speed M Steptronic transmission (now 12.9 seconds) and also lowering the time posted by cars with the optional manual gearbox by 0.6 seconds (to 13.7 seconds).

M Carbon bucket seats.
Pure racing flair: The optional M Carbon bucket seats with illuminated M2 logo and M colour accents combine the lightness and racing character of a bucket seat with the range of functions of an M sport seat. Their fit provide optimum lateral support and high long-distance comfort. The use of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) in the structural elements of the seat cushion and backrest together with the cut-outs in the side bolsters and below the head restraints saves 10.8 kilograms over the M Sport seats. Furthermore, the seats are compatible with multipoint harnesses and therefore fully suitable for racing.
6-speed manual transmission.
As an option the BMW M2’s inline-6-cylinder engine can link up with a 6-speed manual gearbox, creating a driving experience rooted in the intense interaction between the driver and car. The gear ratios and gear spread are perfectly matched to the performance characteristics of the engine. A precisely defined shift action enables rapid, easily executed gear changes. Plus, the Gear Shift Assistant uses engagement speed control (rev-matching) to ensure slip-free operation when downshifting under braking into corners. It can be deactivated in the M Setup menu.

Adaptive M suspension.
Excellent dynamics, exceptional roadholding and improved comfort on long journeys: The Adaptive M suspension makes it possible to adjust the damper characteristics to suit any given driving situation, increasing driving dynamics and comfort. In addition to the standard COMFORT setting for increased driving comfort, the SPORT programme offers firmer damper settings, and with SPORT+, the vehicle can be used on the race track.
8-speed M Steptronic sport transmission.
The 8-speed M Steptronic sport transmission with Drivelogic offers numerous shifting options: This ranges from efficient and comfortable to sporty and even racing style with extremely short shift times. Shift manually using the gear lever or the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, or select one of three automatic programmes using Drivelogic.
M Compound brake.
Thanks to its special material mix, the M Compound brakes achieve excellent deceleration values and very high stability – while reducing weight at the same time. The brake calipers in Red high-gloss give this high-performance brake system a distinctly sporty appearance.
M specific braking system.
The integrated braking system slows the car down with great precision. This system brings together the brake activation, brake booster and braking control functions within a compact module. The required brake pressure is triggered exceptionally quickly and precisely using an electric actuator. Here, the integrated braking system is fitted in an M-specific version that presents the driver with two pedal feel settings, allowing them to choose between more comfort-oriented or very direct execution of brake pedal inputs in the M Setup menu.
M Drive Professional.
Whether track day or spontaneous drift session – M Drive Professional allows drivers of the new BMW M2 to set individual intervention thresholds for wheel slip limitation. The system is the perfect companion for trips with that extra portion of adrenaline.
