M PERFORMANCE. FULLY ELECTRIC.
The M specific design features of the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring emphasise its outstanding dynamic driving potential.
820 Nm of torque is developed by the powerful drivetrain of the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring when M Sport Boost function or M Launch Control is activated.
ELECTRIFYING DRIVING PLEASURE.
The BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring is equipped with an electric motor at both the front and rear axle generating a maximum system output of 442 kW (601 hp). Like the drive units, the high-voltage battery is also derived from the latest fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology. It is composed of four modules with 72 battery cells each and three modules with twelve cells each. The high-voltage battery has a particularly flat design thanks to the modules being cleverly and model-specifically designed.
The M Performance model’s system torque of 795 Nm – 820 Nm when M Launch Control or the M Sport Boost function is activated – offers outstanding pulling power and enables the performance model to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in an impressive 3.9 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 230 km/h. The BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring thus offers the performance and driving dynamics of the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Sedan, enhanced by the versatility of a Touring model.
TECHNICAL DETAILS.
Adaptive M Suspension Professional.
More sportiness on winding roads. The Adaptive M Suspension Professional makes the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring more comfortable. And also more agile and dynamic. Thanks to active roll stabilisation, you barely notice uneven roads on one side. The chassis includes electronically controlled shock absorbers and suspension lowering by 8 millimetres.
Integral Active Steering.
Integral Active Steering combines support that varies based on the steering angle on the front axle, and rear wheels that also contribute to steering. At speeds below 60 km/h, the rear wheels steer in opposite directions and ensure greater manoeuvrability and agility. Beginning around 60 to 80 km/h, the rear wheels turn parallel to the front wheels, to increase driving stability and comfort.
M Sport brakes.
The powerful M Sport braking system matches the dynamic BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring. Its exclusive look with brake calipers in Red high-gloss (also available in dark blue metallic) and M inscription underscore the impressive qualities. The front aluminium fixed calipers are each equipped with four pistons, and the rear floating calipers with a single piston each. Particularly large and internally ventilated brake discs in lightweight construction technology ensure excellent braking performance even under repeated loads. They also offer high deceleration performance when a dynamic driving style is adopted.
M Launch Control.
Maximum acceleration thanks to optimum traction – with M Launch Control, the perfect start from a standstill is achieved. Launch Control catapults the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds – a thrilling driving experience, intensified by the emotional interior sound of BMW M IconicSounds Electric by Hans Zimmer.
My Modes.
With My Modes, settings for driving dynamics and the interior shape a coherent overall experience. Whether sporty, efficient or balanced, in the vehicle interior the displays and light as well as other elements adapt to the mood for the respective mode. Corresponding chassis, drive system and steering settings complete your personal look and feel. The My Mode Sport activates powertrain and chassis settings that are all geared purely to dynamic performance for an exhilarating driving experience.
MEETING THE DEVELOPERS.
