The M Performance Parts for the exterior: The aerodynamic components for the front, side and rear are made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic - also known as CFRP or carbon. With their visible fibre structure under clear lacquer, they emphasise the motorsport character of every BMW 5 Series model. The M Performance front attachmentcarbon fiber guarantees a particularly striking appearance.
For a striking and sporty side profile, the M Performance side skirt attachments in carbon fiber and the M Performance exterior mirror capsin carbonfiber are available. Why aramid? The lightweight and ultra-strong material, which is used not only for the rear diffuser but also for the M Performance aerial cover, comes from the aerospace industry. It is a high-quality fibre composite material that is very similar to carbon fibre in terms of its appearance and processing. Unlike carbon, the components made from it are electromagnetically permeable. This means, for example, that the automatic tailgate opening no longer has to be decoded when the diffuser is installed.

M Performance Parts for the interior: The M Performance door sill plates in carbon fiber create an immediate racing atmosphere when entering the vehicle. Alternatively available: M Aluminium door sill plates and BMW Aluminium door sill plates. The M Performance floor mats with lettering and embroidery in M colours are an additional detail for the perfect finish in the interior.
M PERFORMANCE 20-INCH BRAKE SYSTEM.
Technology meets style: the M Performance 20-inch brake system for the BMW 5 Series models grip the front axle with 6-piston aluminium fixed callipers painted red featuring the M logo. The attractive look of the internally ventilated M Performance lightweight brake discs underlines the sportiness of the vehicle - especially with open wheel designs. The formation of a water film between brake pad and brake disc is reduced by perforations and grooves on the friction ring.
