Antoni Tudisco.
Antoni Tudisco is one of the most renowned 3D artists and collaborating with internationally sought-after luxury brands such as Fendi, Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton. Tudisco’s passion lies in digital art, illustration and graphic design, which he uses to create new, visually stunning worlds in the field of tension between reality and digitality. His visual worlds are defined by a unique avant-garde aesthetic that is characterised by a mixture of surrealist elements, bright colours and futuristic textures.
In an extraordinary collaboration with BMW and the media brand ramp.space, which has stood for excellence for 15 years with its multi-award-winning avant-garde luxury magazines, Antoni Tudisco has created a multimedia work of art that shows BMW M models in different abstract yet familiar worlds. Production took place at the Hyperbowl, the most modern virtual studio in the world, near Munich.
Antoni Tudisco, as an art director and 3D visual artist, you are primarily known for the surreal and fantastic AI worlds you create. Now you have produced a number clips featuring BMW M models. What is the concept behind those clips?
I felt it was crucial to tell a story that goes beyond the obvious. The BMW M models stand for pure power, dynamics and precision, but I wanted to anchor these attributes in a world that knows no physical laws, a dimension that completely exhausts the potential of technology and creativity. The clip’s aesthetics play with the idea of metamorphosis: The vehicles become protagonists in a surreal narrative that blurs the boundaries between technology, art and emotion. It visualises speed and elegance, but from an entirely new perspective. It’s almost like a dream where everything is possible, yet it remains tangible in some inexplicable way.
It visualises speed and elegance, but from an entirely new perspective – almost like a dream.
What do you think creates tension when the real and virtual worlds merge?
The magic lies in duality. The real world gives us a familiar basis, an emotional connection created by design, motion and function. The virtual world, on the other hand, has no boundaries and opens up spaces that we cannot even fathom. When these two worlds merge, something very special emerges: a reality that is physical but so intensified by the virtual that it seems almost supernatural. It’s like a dialogue between the tangible and the intangible. I play with this very field of tension when creating my work. It is where reality meets dreams, and both of them inspire and redefine each other.
Are you interested in cars and fun behind the wheel, or do you primarily see vehicles as visual elements in your art?
I see vehicles as both: art objects and experiences. A vehicle’s design is pure poetry for me, a fusion of form and function that tells a story just like a painting or a sculpture does. But at the same time, you have the aspect of “experiencing”. A BMW M is not simply a vehicle you observe; it’s one you feel through motion, acceleration and adrenaline. That is exactly what I try to capture in my work: the connection between aesthetics and emotion. Every detail of a car can become inspiration, from the vehicle’s lines to its materiality or the way that light hits its body. I translate these elements into my surreal worlds, where they live on and transform.
Did you have a connection to BMW M before this collaboration?
Yes, a very personal and almost nostalgic one. BMW is a brand that has always fascinated me. I remember marvelling at its iconic models during my childhood, whether on the streets or in magazines. BMW M has a special aura for me that unites performance, design and exclusivity. It has always been a symbol for innovation and progress, but also for emotions. When this collaboration came into being, it felt like a perfect symbiosis. It was as if I had worked towards realising these visions for BMW M all these years – a brand that represents what I strive for in my art: passion, precision and creativity.
Technology thrives on the emotions it triggers in us. It should not only be innovative, but also inspiring - it needs to move us.
The protagonists in the videos – the BMW i4 M50, BMW iX M60 und BMW i5 M60 are not only very sporty. They are all also completely electric. Do you think that new technologies should always be fun as well in order to gain acceptance? And are you a fan of electric drives?
Absolutely! Technology lives from the emotions it triggers in us It should not only be innovative, but also inspiring. It needs to move us in the literal sense of the term. I believe that the success of new technologies depends on how well they can reach us on a human level. With its electric M models, BMW shows that sustainable innovation and fun are not mutually exclusive. These cars prove that electric mobility is not only a step towards the future but also a step towards a new type of enjoyment behind the wheel. Electric drives not only fascinate me but also provide me with a canvas for creative possibilities. The sound, the acceleration and the way the car reacts – all of this inspires my art.
If you could choose an M model from the clips, which one would it be and why?
That is an incredibly difficult decision because each of these models embodies something special. But I think I would choose the BMW iX M60. It is like a work of art on wheels that unites luxury, power and technology in a way that seems almost supernatural. From my point of view, it is not just a car. It is a platform for visions. Its lines, presence and electrifying performance make it the perfect protagonist not only in my films but also in my notion of the mobility of the future.
Thank you very much, Antoni, for this inspiring interview.
