Thanks to passionate fans, the IMSA series offers a unique atmosphere. It continues a long tradition of sports car racing in the USA and Canada, in which BMW M Motorsport has always played a major role. Spectacular prototypes and GT cars go head-to-head at iconic racetracks, and battle it out for victories and valuable points at classics such as the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring. In 2022, BMW M Motorsport competed with the new BMW M4 GT3 in the new GTD-PRO class. The car was run by BMW M Team RLL. As of the 2023 IMSA season, Bobby Rahal’s team will run two new BMW M Hybrid V8 and will henceforth start in the new GTP class. In the GTD class, the two BMW M teams, Turner Motorsport and Paul Miller Racing, are each successfully fielding a BMW M4 GT3. In the 2022 season, Paul Miller Racing won the title in the IMSA Sprint Cup Championship.
