REVOLUTION.
Since its foundation over 50 years ago, M GmbH has been revolutionising the classic concept of a sports car. A typical BMW M is a fully-fledged vehicle for everyday use with the dynamics and performance for the racetrack. In the same spirit, the objective is now to revolutionise the electric drive. At various secret test sites, the engineers are working flat out to develop the first fully electric high-performance M model.
INNOVATION.
The task is no less than to fulfil and even exceed the typical requirements of a BMW M model. The challenges facing the developers are therefore enormous. Because the expectations of customers and fans are enormous. Everything that makes BMW M vehicles the community's favourite - dynamic driving characteristics, agility and precision - must be reflected in the all-electric M vehicles of the future.
For me, it's not about transformation, but about embracing new technologies and finding out how to push the limits of what is technically possible.
DEFAULT MODE: PERFORMANCE.
Four electric motors form the core of the revolutionary high-performance drive. The fact that all four wheels are each driven by their own electric motor opens up completely new possibilities. Within milliseconds, the power and torque of the spontaneously reacting electric motors can be controlled with a precision that is unattainable with conventional drive systems. The completely new all-wheel drive system will therefore bring unrivalled performance to the road.
With M GmbH, we will make our mark on electromobility. We will deliver unprecedented performance, quality and features with our vehicles that you can't even imagine today.
WHAT THE BOARD SAID.
The scale and significance of the all-electric high-performance models for the overall electrification of BMW M made it necessary to proceed in close consultation with the Board of Management. Therefore, the Board undertook the first test drives of the prototypes on a sealed-off proving ground much earlier than usual. Can the first fully electric high-performance M model fulfil expectations?
The development team asked the board members to get behind the wheel of the prototype, drive it and feel it - and then talk about it. However, when the company management test pilots got out of the vehicle after a thorough test drive, they said: nothing.
Is that a good sign? Or not? Will the prototype pass the test?
