Already the base model of the CS, the BMW M3 F80, raised the bar another notch in terms of performance and driving dynamics when it was launched. Four years later, when production drew to a close in 2018, M GmbH decided that the series deserved a supreme sign-off. Enter the first BMW M3 CS, a limited-run special-edition model that, thanks to optimised engine power, special equipment features and even sharper driving dynamics, delivered a performance like no BMW M3 before it.

PERFORMANCE MEETS LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN.
PERFORMANCE MEETS LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN.
Compared to the base model, the M3 CS F80 has been revised and further developed. At the centre of these upgrades is the 3.0 litre unit. With two mono-scroll turbochargers, charge air cooler, High Precision Injection, VALVETRONIC variable valve timing and Double-VANOS fully variable camshaft timing, the six-cylinder in-line engine aims at maximised performance. The CS knocks out 338 kW (460 HP) – 21 kW (29 HP) more than the F80 base model – and delivers a maximum torque of 600 Nm, enabling the four-door sedan to clear the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The top speed of the special-edition model, which comes with the M Driver’s Package as standard, is electronically limited to 280 km/h. To ensure that the plus in power translates into a corresponding plus in agility, the efforts in lightweight construction were further intensified. The carbon roof takes six kilograms off the scales while the bonnet with powerdome saves a respectable 25 percent in weight compared to the standard bonnet. Other lightweight parts, which also improve downforce, include the front splitter, the redesigned Gurney at the rear and the rear diffuser, the latter of which was adopted from the BMW M4 GTS. Components in visible carbon fibre further step up the sporty overall impression of the special model.
DRIVING DYNAMICS AT MOTORSPORT LEVEL.
DRIVING DYNAMICS AT MOTORSPORT LEVEL.
The driving dynamics of the BMW M3 CS F80 were further optimised for the racetrack. The specially tuned M Servotronic electromechanical steering provides precise feedback and, in combination with the Adaptive M Suspension, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Active M Differential, allows high cornering speeds. The standard M Compound brake system and the optionally available – and even lighter – M carbon-ceramic brakes deliver stupendous deceleration values and stability both on the road and on the racetrack. Another notable feature of the BMW was its tyres: the M3 CS F80 came equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 semi-slicks as standard. They deliver near motorsport-level grip when properly warmed up and operated in dry conditions. Alternatively, buyers had the option to select Michelin Sport road tyres. Collectively, the refinements enhanced the driving dynamics and provided ambitious drivers with expanded capabilities for precise handling and boundary-pushing performance.

FUNCTIONALITY MEETS EXCLUSIVITY.
FUNCTIONALITY MEETS EXCLUSIVITY.
The exclusive character of the BMW M3 CS F80 continues in the interior. The high-performance sedan dispenses with superfluous comfort without appearing spartan. Lightweight M sports seats, Alcantara applications and elegant CS lettering on the door sill and the seats as well as above the glove compartment characterise the special model. At the same time, key comfort features such as the Professional navigation system, automatic air conditioning and the Harman Kardon Surround Sound System remain as standard. The fact that you are dealing with a special model also shows in the Alcantara-finished lightweight centre console. Complementing this look and feel is the grippy M Performance steering wheel with punched centre markings in the Alcantara cover. Contrasting seams on the upholstery of the sports seats and applications on the headrests in M colours round off the high-quality overall impression of the interior.
ICONIC M LEGACY.

The BMW M3 F80 achieved significant success for the BMW M GmbH and remains popular among the M community and sports car enthusiasts. The exciting and particularly powerful BMW M3 CS special-edition model delivered the final strokes to the F80’s esteem, establishing the fifth generation of the BMW M3 as the respected icon that it is today.
