2025 marks the 27th season for BMW M as Official Car of MotoGP™ partner. Since 1999, M GmbH has provided the fleet of safety and medical cars along with safety bikes as part of this partnership. The latest addition is based on the BMW M5 Touring and completes the ensemble, which also includes the BMW M5 MotoGP™ Safety Car based on the BMW M5 sedan. Together, the high-performance models will be spearheading the safety car fleet in the premier class of motorcycle racing. The touring and sedan models boast performance values that make the BMW M5 the perfect choice for use as a safety car on racetracks. Its M hybrid drive, consisting of a 4.4-litre V8 engine and an electric motor, generates a maximum output of 535 kW (727 hp) and a maximum torque of 1,000 Newton metres. All the necessary modifications were made to the BMW M5 Touring MotoGP™ Safety Car for its use on the racetrack, including numerous carbon, aramid and titanium elements from the BMW M5 M Performance Parts programme.

THE LIVERY OF THE LE MANS RACER
BMW M Hybrid V8, BMW M Motorsport’s competing race car in the FIA World Endurance Championship and in the IMSA series in North America, acted as inspiration for the design of the BMW M5 MotoGP™ Safety Cars’ ‘second skin. The livery reflects BMW M's commitment to hybrid technology.
The new BMW M5 Touring MotoGP™ Safety Car will be on display until the start of the 2025 MotoGP™ season in Bangkok, before making its debut on the racetrack on the first race weekend from 28 February to 2 March.
