The Bored Apes Yacht Club (BAYC), an exclusive NFT community, hosted the fourth edition of the notorious ApeFest in Lisbon. An integral part of this year’s event: the BMW M Driving Experience. The M Mixed Reality Experience presented a new virtual parcours especially created for the ApeFest to make the blending of digital lifestyle and physical driving experience tangible for all apes.
Apes with Drive!
With its exclusively designed location in the brightly coloured look and feel of the Apes Community, the BMW M Driving Experience fitted seamlessly into the world of the Bored Apes. Among other things, the livery of the BMW M2 Ice Racer contributed to the sense of complement. In the Convento Do Beato, the main exhibition area of ApeFest, it caused quite a stir with the audience as an ambassador for the upcoming exclusive winter programme in Sweden.
However, the highlight of the experience was the virtual BMW M Mixed Reality x @boredapeyachtclub racetrack. As soon as you put on the VR headset, the barriers between reality and simulation began to blur and the virtual players became totally immersed in a fascinating ride across the pulsating urban landscape of Lisbon – lined with apes, unicorns and crocodiles. Drivers were able to push the BMW M2 and BMW M4 Competition models to their limits not only virtual, but also in reality.

About Apefest.
The exclusive event, at which the members and owners of the Bored Apes celebrate themselves once a year, is primarily a party by and for digital natives and crypto insiders. But even those with just profound semi-knowledge of NFTs, cryptocurrencies and blockchain will get their money's worth at the event. However, the prerequisite is to be the owner of an Ape NFT.
